Does anyone know of a retailer in Britain selling AMSTRAD E3 EMAILLER SUPERPHONES?
I found one of the above in a website which told me that I must register with EBAY first. I have spent at least four hours a day for the past four days trying to sign on with EBAY but because I am nearly 80 and had had an account with them in the distant past it ended up in a comic opera – not so funny.
at all as it almost amounted to age harassment. They already had my name, address, telephone number and bank account number on their books but apparently assumed I was fraudster – they even told me my pet dog’s name was wrong – dogs don’t live forever. My email address was wrong , well I have been with Freeserve, Tiscali, TalkTalk and now SKY and have many e-mail addresses left over from them
That is the trouble with living too long, the whole world changes around you and however fast you run you just can’t ctach up.
God Bless
Mucktau
What a way to run a company when a simple telephone call – which they refused ? – could have settled everything amicably

Haha this is the best question I have read in a long time, thank you for the entertainment lol
I did some basic searching and I found this handy little statement:

"the Amstrad E3 is available from Dixons, Currys, The Link, Argos, Carphone Warehouse, Comet, John Lewis and Toys ‘R’ Us. For stockist information, call the Amstrad helpline on 0906 681 6816 or visit www.amstrad.com."

I hope this helps.
P.s. I only clicked on this question because I though it may have had some correlation to the old Amstrad computers of the 80’s but your explanation had me in stitches and I felt I owed it to you to search around a bit

i cant understand the film "the orphanage" the spanish horror?
i watched the film "The orphanage" the other night and i understood it but i just need a few answers, when the woman Laura was looking for her son Simon, and she gets pushed into the bathroom and the door shut and locked on her by the boy with the mask on & the whistle. Who was it? Simon or Tomas?
When the old lady gets knocked over by the van and she dies, why does she have the whistle around her neck?

It was Simon. Tomas never actually existed in the movie. The whole time Simon had been dressing up as Tomas – and I’m not sure if you picked up on it – but Laura had accidentally locked Simon in the basement where Tomas used to be kept, thus killing Simon because he fell down the stairs. It really confused me the first time I saw it – but I caught on the second time around. So all those thumps she heard at night were Tomas, her son, in the basement.

I’m not too sure about the whistle. My guess it’s something she wore when she worked at the orphanage and for some odd reason still does wear it and just symbolizes that.

Overall – I thought it was a terrific movie. Scary at first – very sad at the end.

she had the whistle because , she used to work in the orphanage and she kept it, and i don’t know who it was who pushed her into the bathroom because at that point she had already shut simon in the basement

Used Game Boy Advance SPs sell for $30. Or rather, they are commonly priced for $30, I can’t imagine why anyone would buy one though.

I really wouldn’t expect more than $5 a game. And that’s only for games that people want. Maybe the Pokemon games… But Scooby Doo? Shrek? Dogz and Catz? lol
No one will want those. Don’t think you’ll be able to sell the whole package as one set unless you have a very low asking price.
vdeityra | Jan 05, 2010

whole package would be 100 maybe with 5$ each thing, 25$ for the gameboy.

What do you think of those mobile veterinary units for pets?
My kitten was 6 mo. old and in heat. Like everyone else, we are feeling the economical crunch but I also did not want this little tiny cat getting pregnant. She was so tiny, she looked 8 wks old. Having a litter would have killed her for sure. I would never allow it anyway and she’s an indoor cat. My daughter told me of a mobile unit that comes around once a week to do spaying and neutering of animals. They also do the shots if the pet has not had them. So I called, the price was right and told them that she needed her initial shots as well. Everything was set, My daughter knew the area and she brought the cat in. We picked her up at the end of the day. Well, for some reason, they didn;t giver her the shots. So, I called back and 2 wks later my daughter brought her back for the shots. She dropped the cat off and waited outside the unit. Everyone there heard this horrible blood curdling scream. My daughter said it was horrible. The vet came out and asked who brought this cat in and he had my cat in the carrier. My daughter said it was hers. He told her he couldn’t get near the cat. She was the one screaming. When told me this she said, "Mom, you should have seen her. As soon as she saw the vet, it was like she recognized him and her eyes were wide, her fur was standing straight, she hissed at him but, I left to wait outside. I had no idea the screaming was from her until the vet called me in". Well I want to explain something for those of you who are not medical and don’t know terms. When anyone, be it man or animal, has surgery, the Dr will give this drug called Succinacholine. In short, Succs. It’s a paralytic drug but has to be used in combination with anesthesia. This drug prevents the patients from moving and without anesthesia, surgery could be performed and you couldn’t do a darn thing to let them know you were awake. I firmly believe that’s what happened here. This is why it’s inexpensive. Gosh, I pray I’m wrong because I brought her to my own vet after that and she never acted like that. She doesn’t like the cat carrier because I think she associates the carrier with that vet. So, sometimes, we just take her for a ride in the carrier so she will know that not all rides end up bad. So tell me, do you think this could be the case? Why else would my cat react in such a horrible way as soon as she saw that vet. I wish I had some proof of what went on, but I don’t. The only paper work I got was the fact that she was spayed on such a date and a tag for her collar. I really believe she felt the entire sugical proceedure. You have no idea how I pray I’m wrong because if this vet did it to her, he’s doing it to all animals. It’s a terrible scary thought. Can someone put my mind at ease, but give me your honest opinion. Thank you.
Thank you so much, You ppl have really put my mind at ease. What a relief, but for the first guy who said the body would die in surgery was without anesthesia. No, have you ever seen that special that I wish I never saw, about these ppl who had surgery, felt all of it and couldn’t respond? Their stories were too darn scary. Come to find out, the tank under the OR table was empty. Now they have a way of knowing if the anesthesia has taken. Thank God
Glenn I used Banfield at Petco for her shots. They are good but used privatly, they are very expensive. I bring my cats to my own vet now. Neither one of them ever hisses at him or screams. Like I said, she’s not afraid of the carrier anymore because we will take her for rides so she can see that there’s nothing bad happening to her. She’s ok with the carrier now.
RRM 38 My gosh, your cat looks just like both my cats. Black all over. One, the older one, is a pure bred Bombay. Gorgeous cat.

The mobile spay/neuter clinics are providing an invaluable service and they do not skimp on supplies or perform procedures any differently than they would be performed in a private vet’s office. I don’t believe anything was done wrong with your cat. Some simply have this reaction after a first visit to a vet. I rescued one of mine at about six months. He was sick with a URI, had been shot with a bb gun and had a bb lodged at the base of his tail and was generally in poor shape. My first stop was the vet’s office, where he was administered medication for a few days to get him over the hump on his illness, then operated on to remove the bb and neuter him. I do not question the practices of my vet in the least, and know that he received the best quality care possible. Since that first visit, Casper (the cat in my avatar) turns into a demon kitty at the vet’s office. They even have a red sticker on his chart warning staff that he’s a difficult patient. He simply doesn’t like the vet and considered it to be a bad experience from the beginning, but it has nothing to do with the quality of care he received. Years ago I had another cat who was so bad that the vet had to come to my house to give him annual checkups and vaccinations. The only other option was to sedate him with happy gas while he was still in the carrier… if I could even get him in it. I wouldn’t automatically jump to the conclusion that the vet did anything wrong in this case. It’s more likely that the cat just had a bad reaction to the experience period… not that she was mistreated in any way.

			rrm38 | Jan 19, 2010

I highly doubt they did anything wrong.

Cats can react strangely- my cat in his carrier growls, hyperventilates and screams, and he’s only ever been neutured at our vet and is fine once he’s outside of the carrier- even if he’s actually AT the vets!

If your cat had been awake during the surgery, the shock alone would have killed her- a body can’t go through open surgery like that awake and paralyzed without the brain reacting to protect the body by making it go into shock. Simply put, it would most likely kill a cat to be awake during surgery, due to the pain.

The cat was young, scared of a new situation, and doesn’t like the carrier- and probably wasn’t a huge fan of the vet. It doesn’t mean anything- I believe you’re reading too much into it. (And getting second hand infomation from your daughter doesn’t help the situation.)
Laura | Jan 19, 2010

i think that they try to help people but they do it for cheaper price so they don’t have the necessary tools.
NikkyNick | Jan 19, 2010

We use one for our rescue animals. Never had an issue. I would be surprised that you could get all of the employees to be in on torturing animals. The dr. could tell right away if the drugs hadn’t kicked in and would wait. Most animals hate going to the vet. One of my cats has to be muzzled when I take him in. Any other time, he’s very calm.

There have been cases of mistreatment but they were reported by a co-worker. People go into that field because they love animals not because they want to hurt them. I really believe it would be reported if that were the case. I really hope they didn’t hurt the cat and he was just stressed. You can always go to another vet like the Humane Society or a private practice vet. I’ve used Banfield at Petsmart for the last 7 years and have been very pleased with the care.
Glenn | Jan 19, 2010

I seriously doubt that they operated without anesthesia. Those spay/neuter clinics and vans are inexpensive because they receive funding to do so, and they are "no frills". That doesn’t mean they don’t follow proper veterinary protocols. They can actually be better, safer places to have your cat spayed/neutered as they do way, way many more than a regular vet does. I’ve volunteered at many of them, and have never seen anything suspicious or wrong. They use regular isoflourine and/or ketamine, and I doubt very much that they use that paralytic drug instead or in addition to the anesthetic – it would be an added and unnecessary cost. Vets do not use this drug.

You’re relying also on second hand information with your daughter’s story. I have a cat who turns into the cat from hell on some vet visits. You’d think she was being abused, as she shrieks, screams, hisses, threatens to bite – in that extremely loud way that only a Siamese can scream. Yet it’s not every vet visit, and we can’t figure out what sets her off. Your cat probably did shriek and scream, but I am sure it’s not because she recognized the vet as giving her some sort of paralytic drug and then operating without anesthesia.
J C | Jan 19, 2010

				I think mobile clinics are a godsend.But vets,like a lot of medical professionals,are a different story.

You cat may have received care from a bad vet.If you have any questions regarding his or her credentials I would do a web search and see if any complaints have been filed in your state against this doctor.

Or your cat does not like change. But still I would do a websearch to ease your mind.
john | Jan 19, 2010

i think the vet really cares for animals for not asking for higher price
i wish that vet was in my area
today i took my cat to the vet and i payed everything in my wallet (i do not regret it ) but i was going to buy a university book with it
and my vet is nice but still my cat is a manic to him ( today was her the vet) she will scratch and screeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaammmmmmmm like she is being tortured
oih | Jan 19, 2010

Request the spay paperwork if you haven’t received it already. This is the paper that basically tells what was used and how the prodedure was done. Take it to your vet to make sure appropriate drugs and usage was done. If the wrong medication was used to perform the surgery your cat would be showing symptoms within the next few hours to a day. It may act lethargic, withdrawn, or act out in pain. Your cats dislike of the mobile clinic can be due to several reasons. Remember this is a much more confined space than a regular office. Sights, sounds, and smells are amplified. This may have scared the cat.
Ask other clients their experience with that mobile vet. If the vet is not using anesthesia it will be revealed very soon.
Mobile vets are especially great for rural areas where clinics are scarce. THey must be judged on an individual basis.

I think I know how to fix brassy blonde hair…?
Well, ladies, I embarked on my dark brown to (hopefully) icy blonde hair color on Thursday. It is now Saturday and I am finally finishing up the mess I made of my hair. Wow. I haven’t seen my natural shade since the 7th grade, I’m 30 now. My mom always said it was "dirty dishwater blonde" and I was white blonde as a kid – hence the original idea for going icy in the first place. I’ve always colored my hair DARKER at home with no problems, but I pretty much stuck to the mantra: going darker at home=ok, going lighter at home=not ok, GO TO THE SALON. Plus, after a mishap in 12th grade of trying blonde in a box, which ended up with me crying and in a salon chair for four hours and $250 less in my pocket. I thought I’d learned my lesson. I did until Thursday. Anyone who colors at home – especially us darker gals – often are enticed by that beautiful blonde hair – well at least I am. I gave in and started perusing the blonde boxes. I’m a huge fan of Clairol Perfect 10 – I have used Medium Dark Brown or Dark Brown. So I thought I’d start there. The lightest blonde really wasn’t want I wanted, plus it said on the box that the darkest hair for optimal results that one could have was dark blonde. My hair was dark brown with some golden/red undertones to it. So I checked that one off and looked some more. I found Clairol Born Blonde Maxi – it claimed to take dark hair (even black) to pale yellow blonde. I was skeptical, but it sounded like a "lighting kit" AKA bleaching kit was what it was gonna take to get my desired blonde. I read the box and it said I would want to consider toning afterwards with Clairol Natural Instincts – light blonde, afterwards. I just bought the Born Blonde and went home to try it. I forgot to mention that I got some Color Oops (get rid of any excess haircolor) too and used that before the Born Blonde. The directions said it was normal for the hair to pass through an orange stage, so I didn’t freak when I saw orange. After an hour of waiting, the orange stayed. Awe, heck. I’M A PUMPKIN! I got on the internet and started looking around. TONE TONE TONE was the answer I got. Fine. So I walked back to Walgreens and bought the Clairol Natural Instincts BRASS FREE light blonde. Side Note: Brass and I have been mortal enemies the last few days. Relieved, with toner in hand, I applied. The directions warned me not to exceed 10 minutes, I followed suit. After rinsing and conditioning (ALWAYS USE THE CONDITIONER THEY GIVE YOU) – I’m serious. Well…I WAS STILL A PUMPKIN! With Walgreens now closed, I was stuck with my pumpkin head. I started researching more on the internet. I started getting the general consenus that it is quite normal to have to bleach again. Friday morning, 5am: I tried the Born Blonde again, only this time I used the Ultra Blue – a kit that promised no brassiness. For double insurance I bought the L’Oreal Brass Banisher to tone with. I applied the Born Blonde. Left it on for almost 2 hours, until I started seeing yellow, then rinsed. I wasn’t thrilled, but I had the Brass Banisher, so I did that. I was getting excited becasue I could have sworn I saw the brassiness starting to go down. Did I finally get the shade I wanted? NOPE. I was now a BANANA with PUMPKIN streaks. My hair looked and felt like straw. I was starting to get worried about my hair starting to fall out. My scapl was burning, the nape of my neck was itchy, I had to give it a rest. Last night, I rinsed again with some conditioner and went back to the internet to scour for some more tips and info so I could fix it Saturday (today). I really hated the advice of "just go to the salon" or "go to the pros" – trust me, I would have in the first place. Anyway. I was now faced with two options : go REALLY dark again or neutralize this mess. I decided to neutralize. I am aware that "ash" reduces "brass", but I also know that there is a risk of going GREEN if you go too dark. I went back to my trusted brand, Clairol Perfect 10, and bought the Dark Blonde shade. It is a neutral shade, so I wouldn’t go green nor would I go even further into the brassy range. Plus, having used Perfect 10 before I know that it fades over time – dark blonde seemed the right way to go, plus with the base I was working with, I knew it was going to come out lighter and with some golden in it. I applied it, left it on a bit longer, about 25 mintues then rinsed. I also put a dime size of ‘Blue Shampoo’ and very gently washed my hair before using the color conditioner. And….FINALLY….SUCCESS! My hair is a nice beigy, honey, wheaty blonde – a "dirty dishwater" blonde with some goledn hues – very much similar to my natural shade. I think? I am relieved, plus it’ll be a good base when I decide to lighten it with a ton of highlights BY GOING TO THE FREAKIN SALON – OR – if I decide to go darker at home. I hope this helped any of you out there who are either thinking of starting,

No offense or anything, but people on here won’t do your homework for you. As long as you have an answer or an analysis from supporting details in the story, then you will be fine. It’s all about taking examples from the poems and justifying your answer. It doesn’t have to be correct. This used to torment me in my literature class, too.
ohh don’t worry! shes just making it like that so nobody can suspect a thing. if your really worried, ask her about it.
I’m absolutely sure that she’s trying to hide her relationship status but not cheating on you bro. :]
Edward | Feb 07, 2010

				simply ask her
MysteryGirl | Feb 07, 2010

If she’s cheating on you, you’ll see more signs than just that. If she is cheating, you’ll usually see her interest in your relationship drop. Does everything seem okay when you are both together? Keep an open eye, and an open mind. Remember, you both did agree to keep this a secret, so it could easily be that she is trying to put on the image that she is single for her parents. Be calm, and don’t overreact to anything. Making a big deal out of nothing is the fastest way to kill a relationship.

Which Barbie movie do you like the best.?
From:
The Nutcracker
Rapunzel
Swan Lake
Princess and the Pauper
Magic of Pegasus
12 Dancing Princesses
Island Princess

PLZ no fairytopia series.
Or myScene
Or the guitar/teen barbie one that made barbie look like a bratz with big head and made her look like she was suffering from anorexia.

Gosh, these movies bring back such memories.

Anyway.

My favourites are Rapunzel, Princess and the Pauper, and Swan Lake. For some reason I can’t really remember Swan Lake, but I know I’ve watched it.

Hahaha. You’re old enough to diagnose a Barbie with anorexia, yet you’re questioning which the best Barbie movie is..
Strange.

I’ve only ever seen.. The Nutcracker, I believe. Watched it when I was babysitting. It was pretty cute. There was another one with.. a cute little animal.. that said "Sparkle" a lot. Might have been the same one, but I can’t quite recall.
